How to deal with the confrontation of rapidly swelling prosperity of countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the new domestic needs on one hand and the sea of socialist Plattenbau on the other? This project combines proposals for the stepwise transformation of Rataje Poznan in Poland.
Consolidating and transforming the socialist mass housing can meet the new demand for more legibility, flexibility and diversity of dwellings in those areas where residents are most contented, and do it in a way commensurate with today’s domestic needs. And all this while maintaining and strengthening ties with the surrounding landscape as a place for recreation.
